A Lake Escape

I was researching online and came across the fabulous architect Keith Summerour out of Atlanta. My friend introduced me to his work when he designed their beautiful lake home and I've been smitten ever since. (I'll post pictures someday of their lake house- it's precious)

Another one of his lake homes was featured as the 2008 Designer Showhouse for AH&L -and I realize I'm a year off (ok, nearly TWO!) but just in case you've never seen it- get ready to pack your bags and find your way to the nearest lake.

TTN: Look at the symmetry in this photo. Unreal.
-I also like the railing design in the second story

*I love the openness of these two rooms and don't think it would be nearly as great without those second story screens. The light just comes pouring in... (put your pink finger up and block out the second story windows... see? not as effective.)
And that little detail is why Summerour is a genius.

How adorable is this bunk bed room?
The color palette, roman shade, elephant,
Although the basket full of antique yarn is a little staged. A child coming in from the lake knitting some mittens? I don't think so.

I like the way they stayed fairly consistent with the cabinetry and countertops throughout the house- No reason to complicate things.

I love this picture. There's just something everything about it...
TTN: The lines of the chaise lounge, the roman shade- beautiful!, the colors, the artwork and ladder.. and that little side table- looks like someone just put down their book and reading glasses and walked out of the scene. (Now I can believe that!)

Ahhh.. the swing.
Do you see a common thread here in that I keep posting homes that include swings?? Here, here and here.

Must be love.
